Karate Lessons Pay Off

There was quite an incident at Karinna's elementary school today. Apparently, Karinna and a group of her 1st grade friends were harrassed by a bully during recess. The alleged assault began when a 4th grader attempted to kick one of Karinna's friends, Rachel Fong. He then proceeded to take a pile of leaves and drop them on the head of another friend. Details are still a bit sketchy, but Karinna reportedly resorted to her Karate training and executed a standard defensive maneuver as she tried to protect her fellow classmates. Thank God the school authorities arrived on the scene and subdued the aggressor before things escalated too far out of control. While it's disturbing to me that my little girl almost got into a fight with a 4th grader, I am glad to see that when push comes to shove (literally), Karinna has the confidence to stand up for herself and her friends. This is not so much a result of her level of martial arts prowess, but rather the confidence and discipline she gains from taking Karate.
