Let the Games Begin

Karinna started the fall season for AYSO last Saturday. The photo above shows Karinna (far right) and her teammates running out onto the field after being introduced during the official Opening Day ceremonies. AYSO opening day has become quite a spectacle and a very well attended event in our community (in spite of a start time of 8am on Saturday morning!). The coaches choice of the neon green uniforms must have inspired the team name of "Lucky Charms." Below, you can see a team photo (Karinna is the third girl from the left).

As it turns out, Fall AYSO is much more serious than in the Spring. The team practices once a week. Last week's practice was an hour and a half long (complete with stretching and drills) with a full speed scrimmage at the end! The team lost their opening game 4-0. But Karinna really seems to be enjoying it, as she is making new friends and gaining some early exposure to the dynamics of team play.
