Fun at Lake Tahoe

Thanks to the generous hospitality of some good friends, our family had the pleasure of spending this last weekend up in Lake Tahoe. Karinna and Jeremy loved playing in the snow so much they didn't want to leave. Taking their lead from Uncle Brad, it didn't take long for the both of them to learn proficiency in the universal sport of downhill plastic saucer sledding.

We almost decided not to go on this trip. The weekend retreat at Lake Tahoe is sandwiched in between two long business trips. I literally got off the plane on my return from the East Coast and immediately started the 200+ mile drive to the Sierras. The forecast was for hazardous, snowy conditions on the road. Due to President's Day weekend, the traffic to Tahoe was hurrendous. But after seeing the kids enjoy the snow so much, we felt the trip was definitely worth doing. Last year, given the same situation, we probably would have decided not to go. This year, I've decided to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. There will never be a "perfect" time to get away and spend time with friends and family -- just gotta make the time. Tomorrow, I leave on a weeklong trip to Asia.
